This Thusrday I went to the Walk About with Dorothy.
Every year during the summer the Farm to School and RISE program meet in every school in Davis to focus on the gardens and the recycling program in the shcools. They can see what is good and what need to be changed. On Saturday it was the Peach Party at the Good Humus farm. Many people were here to celebrate the crops. A lot of delicious food to eat! Really fun.
This Saturday, I volunteered with the Slow Food Yolo organization at the Capay Tomato Festival. It is organized by the Farm Fresh to You.
During the afternoon, people can taste many different tomatoes, and have to vote for their favorite heirloom tomato, and their favorite cherry tomato. It was a fun event, with music and food. The Slow Food volunteers like me cut pieces of tomato and talk to the people. |
AuthorI am Amandine, a French student of 21 years old. I am studying agriculture and food processing in a university in France, and I have to perform a 2 month internship abroad this summer. I have decided to go to Davis (California) to do this internship, at the Slow Food Yolo organization. Here I will try to tell my adventure. ArchivesCategories
